Defeat

On Saturday Paihia School the year 7 & 8 netball team had a netball game. This game was not like the rest, this game was very competitive because (Paihia School year 7 & 8) and The Bubz team were battling to win the Presidents Cup Award.

On Saturday we didn’t have high hopes of winning. We wanted to believe we were going to win but let’s be real we were going up against the most competitive team in our grade. They were even frightening to look at with their black and green uniforms. I was Goalkeep again for almost the whole game besides the last quarter, I had a very important job to do which was to try stop the Goal Shooter from getting the ball but she was all up against me and it was hard to defend her. Their passes were all on point and they worked together, they always gave each other complements working throughout the game and I think that’s what motivated them. On Saturday when we finished I couldn’t feel my legs or feet, my throat was even hurting. But it was all worth it because we are the second best team in our grade and we came second in the Presidents Cup but we had a major loss as we lost 28/5.

Something our team could work on is to motivate each other and to spread out, like try get free. Something I think we did well was trying our best and actually attending the game. Do you play competitive netball? I hope you enjoyed. Bye!

Blasting Bake Sale!

Kia ora. In our netball team we ran a bake sale to help pay for our fees. Angela, Jade and I spent all day yesterday helping out before the bake sale started like making posters, buttering bread etc.

Everyone brought delicious treats and they sold out pretty quickly. We also had a sausage sizzle going and they were going quick too. The other netball team players also helped to either run it or to clean up etc. We made a lot of money but i’ve been told by someone whos been told that it won’t be enough to pay all of our fees. Something I think we could improve next time is to organize it better like organize the signs and labels before hand but I still think we did good.

Straight after the bake sale we had netball practice because this weekend we are playing against the bubs and if we win to them we win a prize. A lot of parents and including ourselves of course are expecting us to win. I think we have a 50, 50 % chance of winning because we definitely have gotten better since that last game we played against them and it wasn’t pretty. I can’t wait to see how we go so I can tell you. I hope you enjoyed. Have you played netball? If you have, what’s your favorite position? Mines GK if you were wondering.

Netball

Kia ora bloggers, on Saturday last week we had a netball game. We played against a team from Kerikeri High School. I knew this game would be very competitive because two of our old friends were in their team. I love playing Gd or Gk because I enjoy defending people.

Our first game was like a warm up round because we had just gotten out of bed. Our second game was more intense because we had already warmed up. We were doing awesome because we were winning and I enjoyed it because I was Gk. The other team I think was saving their energy for last because by the last round they were very competitive. They scored 3 or 4 more goals in the last round but we scored a bit more. By the end of the game they announced that we won 12, 5 and the player of the day was Alexandrea because she was trying her best for the first time playing with us.

Something I think I need to work on next time is to focus on the game not winning. Last year we did so much better, we even got 20 something goals but I’m pretty sure we will progress. I think we did awesome for the first game of the season. Do you play netball? I hope you enjoyed. Ka Kite!

Google Drawing Masterpiece

Kia ora bloggers in Te Ngahere we have been playing around with google drawing. We have been learning different tools in Google drawing and how to use them. This challenge was to help us use Google drawing confidently and efficiently to create our own images and graphics.

We created different things on Google drawing using shapes and other tools to help with that. I drew underwater marine life. It was so easy and very fun. I learnt how to make different fish and other sea animals with only using shapes. I learnt how to make a two different fish, a crab, a stingray and a jellyfish. To make the jellyfish I also had to use the line tool. I drew seaweed and a rock underwater. I will embed my D.L.O to show you what I made.

In the future this could help me to do more creative D.L.Os to show my work. I enjoyed doing this activity and using Google drawing properly. It was so interesting to see what others made and this was a very fun activity. Have you done something like this before? I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post and maybe you could do something similar. Ka Kite!

A Quick Guide to Technology

Kia ora bloggers this blog post will be about technology. Yesterday we attended technology in Moerewa. We travelled by bus to go there. This term was different from last term as we had a different class. Last term we did cooking class with Whaea Dot which was incredible, while this term we will be doing wood works with Mr E. In wood works we are currently working on building a waka. We started by using a block of wood and marking the outlines with pencil of the waka. We had a demo waka that we had to copy so we could have one of our own. I am really going to enjoy this because Mr E trusts us using more complicated power tools. I enjoyed doing this with my class and I really enjoyed making a new project. This got complicating at one point but I managed to get through it. Have you done technology before? I hope you enjoyed. Can you Follow Instructions?

Kia ora bloggers, it’s been awhile since I posted but today I have a new blog post for you. We have just recently come back to school, and already have had a reading test. This reading test is a test that shows if you can follow directions. We had four minutes to complete the test. Listed on the left side of the paper were 23 questions we had to complete. The first question we read stated, read everything carefully before doing anything. No one followed that instruction because everyone started doing the test but when the last question was said they read now that you have finished reading everything carefully, do only sentences one and two. This is the reason why everyone didn’t get the test correct. When we were finished I learnt that no one can follow instructions carefully or that they weren’t bothered to read instructions carefully. I now know how important it is to follow instructions, in the future I am going to read instructions properly. Have you recently done a test similar to this? I enjoyed doing this test. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post .
