Amazing T-ball

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have recently played t-ball. Whaea Kc came to Paihia School to teach us how to play t-ball. I had a great time because I got a home run. I learnt that once you hit the ball you run to the first base but if they catch the ball and touch the base before you do then your out. Once you have ran to all four bases you get a home run. The opposite team's strategy was to throw it to the person on the last base. We had a good time learning how to play t-ball. Have you ever played t-ball? We didn’t take any photos but here is a photo of t-ball. I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Te Inoi o te Ariki

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have been learning the lord's prayer and have recently been saying it every morning before we start the day. I learnt new Māori words and how to pronounce them properly such as rangatiratanga. I enjoy learning new Māori things and words. Something I could do better next time is practice at home. I encourage everyone to learn the lord's prayer. If you want to learn it here is a photo of the lord's prayer. Do you know the lord’s prayer? I hope you enjoyed this blogpost. Kia kite!

Amazing Cricket

Kia ora bloggers, in Te Ngahere we have been playing cricket. I learnt the proper way to hold a cricket bat. To hold a cricket bat properly you have to make two v’s with your hands and place them onto the cricket bat. I found it difficult while practising but I started to get the hang of it. I also learnt that slightly crouching is better because it is easier to move. I also learnt more while practising but then we got to play speed cricket and it was fun. I enjoyed playing cricket today and I hope to play it again. Have you played cricket before?
Ka kite!

Marvelous Matauri Bay

In Te Ngahere we could have blogged about something special or fun we did in the holidays. I wanted to blog about going to Matauri bay because it was my first time going and it was marvelous. I learnt interesting facts about Matauri bay such as the water being so clear that you can see the bottom of the ocean just looking downwards. When we arrived we started kayaking straight away but the water was freezing. Me and my cousin Bree went on the kayak first, Broughton and Rikki-Dean flipped us. It was funny. It took me some time to get in the water but I went in the water. A couple hours later I went on the kayak again and we went out to these rocks surrounded by seaweed. We eventually started getting cold and I got out for a while and had something to eat. As soon as we finished eating Rikki-Dean and my step aunty went diving to collect scallops while we went for a walk up the hill. That is basically the end of our trip and I wish we could go back another time which we can because my uncle and his partner are going to build a house out there. I hope you enjoyed reading this blog post. Ka kite!
