Mr Lindsay's Powhiri

Kia ora, welcome back to my blog and welcome to 2020. If you are new to my blog kia ora and my name is Breeze. I am a year seven student now at Paihia Primary School. Make sure to comment what I can make better and what is good about my blog post. Last week on Monday 8 Te Ngahere students were chosen to go to Kawakawa School and awhi Mr Lindsay in his powhiri. When we got to Kawakawa School we stepped out of the van and we all gathered up. When we gathered up we were thinking of what waiata we were going to sing. We went and sat down while we waited until we were allowed to go in the whare. Mr Lindsay told us to stand in the shade because it was hot but when we were standing in the shade two students and one adult from Kawakawa Primary School did a wonderful karanga to welcome us and some others into the whare. When we were walking to the whare we were told to put our shoes on the left side of the whare. We had to share some seats with others but we didn’t mind. We had to listen to some people saying their mihi including Mr Lindsay and after his mihi we sang the song that we picked. After that we got invited to have a little snack with them. There was red velvet cake, chocolate cake, milk, scroggin and two other flavoured cakes. I was so nervous when we had to sing the waiata but I tried to only look at my cousins that go to Kawakawa school. After the little morning tea we went back to Paihia School. What I found difficult was leaving Mr Lindsay. What I enjoyed was spending time with him because I don’t know when the next time I will see him is. I still really miss Mr Lindsay but know he is gone to Kawakawa School. I hope you guys had a awesome start to 2020. Ka kite.

Magic show

On Wednesday we went to a magic show. We had to pay 4$ to go to the magic show, at first I was so surprised. I was so happy and I couldn't wait to go. We finally got into the whare and we saw the magician. I was so amazed I wanted to scream. The first magic trick he did was a fire one. My favourite ones was the ones with the birds. My favourite one was at the end when he turned a bird into a rabbit. The little kids wanted to touch the rabbits, but he said they no. I asked him a question, My question was how do you know which bird is which, the magician said that he could tell by the weight.

Holiday Highlight

On Saturday in the morning at 9.45 my grandparents and I  were thinking of going to Auckland so we could go to goats Island. We had not been there before so we wanted to go see what they do there. After that we got everything ready and throw them on the bed so they were ready for us to take to goats Island. We were going at 10.00.

First we went to go pick up my sister so she could come too. It was a long time to go to goats Island. We had a little rest on the way. We had K.F.C for lunch.

On the way to Auckland we saw funny pink sheep. We also went to buy stuff for dinner, pudding and breakfast. We had bacon and egg pie for dinner and hot chocolate and cookies for dessert.

In the morning we went to goats Island. It was so bright. It had beautiful flowers. We saw lots of fish but you weren't allowed to eat the seafood. We saw only a little bit of seaweed though. We went back to the hotel room we were staying in.

We went to pack all of our stuff and we put them in the  car. We were driving home and on the way we had Mcdonalds and a frozen coke.

I had the best day in my life with my grandparents.

Gala Argument

Should we have Galas?

I think we should have exciting, entertaining, withdrawing galas at schools. Galas are fantastic ways to celebrate.

Firstly, Fun is a get together. If we all get together we will have more fun than we usually have. Fundraise is about including everyone. If we include everyone we the don’t get left out and feel sad. Fun is about learning together. We learn better if we work together.

Secondly, Fundraising is about sharing. When you share you make new friends. Fundraising is also about helping each other. If we fund we are more happier.

Thirdly, People make more money when they fundraise and if you don’t have much money we can fundraise. You could fundraise for trips so you parents don’t need to give the money to you because we can get more off others. Fundraising helps other people because it doesn't coats as much as normal.

I honestly think that we should have galas anywhere like at school like and like at home.

1. A piece of A4 paper
2. Scissors

Steps:

1. Fold your paper in half
2. Fold the right corner down diagonally towards the bottom left corner
3. Fold the top left corner towards the bottom right corner to make a triangle
4. Cut off the bottom edge in the shape of a ark.
5. Fold in half from left to right
6. Cut out shapes from all sides
7. Unfold

One piece of A4 paper

Steps:

1. Fold your A4 paper in half lengthwise. Unfold.
2. Fold one corner to the center then do the same to the other side.
3. Fold down again to the first fold with each side.
4. Turn open the wings to the outside of your plane.
5. Test it out.

Brushing your teeth

How to brush your teeth

Equipment:

1. Toothbrush
2. Toothpaste
3. Water

Steps:

1. Put some toothpaste on your toothbrush
2. Put some water on your toothbrush
3. Rub your toothbrush all around your teeth
4. Check your face is clean

Cinquain

W.A.L.T make a cinquain. My topic was chromebooks. We could go on google slides, google docs, Lucidchart and google drive. 

Buddy

W.A.L.T create a presentation with Te Awa. We collaborated together. They got to choose what we are doing. We made a Ben Ten slide show. My buddy was Alex. I think we collaborated really well because we got every think done. 

Amazing Alphabetical Alliteration

Today I have learnt how to use Screencastify. We had to get in the alphabetical order to say our parts. We had to speak loudly so you could hear our voices. We also had to cheek to make shore it was O.K. to go on the blog. We also had to speak clearly. We had our own parts. we had to say our own but if the person was away we had to say there parts. We had to make it smaller to put it on our blog. Tania had to send it to Mrs N. and Mrs N. sent it to us then we had to put it on our blog. Screencastify could be used on google docs and google slides.

Alliteration Relationship Critters

W.A.L.T. write an alliteration describing a relationship between two creatures. We used a shared Google Doc to write our alliteration. In a shared Google Slide we had to add a background then inserted png images of the critters.

Hot Chocolate Haiku

I.A.L.T. write a haiku poem about nature with three unrhymed lines with five, seven, and five syllables. In the cold weather I like drinking hot chocolate.
